Self-disclosure

As I was driving over the weekend, I found myself listening to a song by Mary Lambert entitled “Secrets.”

This particular song is a great example to me of the hidden quadrant of the Johari Window. Of course, as Lambert reveals these individual ideas to the audience, each becomes part of the open quadrant.

The ideas expressed by this song and in the video showcase the concept of what we choose to reveal to others, based upon our ideology and comfort levels. I would love to hear your thoughts on this example of sharing. Specifically, how do you choose what you share with others, or what you hold to be “sacred” by keeping it only to yourself?
