Chapters 13 & 14

For the last two chapters, which focus on mediated communication, I would probably recommend that studies place a little emphasis on the following areas.

Chapter 13

  • What are Mass Media?
  • Selective Exposure
  • Confirming Social Identities
  • Ethics and Mass Media

Chapter 14

  • The Importance of Interactive and Social Media
  • Media Richness Theory
  • Managing Identity
  • Power, Access, and Digital Inequalities
